Meet Executive Chef Joe Jacobsmeyer.
Chef Joe Jacobsmeyer comes to Oakmont with an impressive culinary background. His earliest memories are of helping his grandmother in her kitchen. Standing on the kitchen counter, bent over a large stock pot, he would crush tomatoes to make homemade sauce; Joe’s passion for cooking began in his early years. When he joined the United States Marine Corps, his Military Occupational Specialty was that of a 3381 – Food Service Specialist. Chef Joe was awarded Cook of the Year by the USMC Food Team in 2001. Ten years later, he decided to pursue his love of cooking by enrolling at Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco. While attending culinary school, Chef Joe had the unique opportunity to assist Top Chef All Star Winner Chef Richard Blais at a private event. Chef Blais was so impressed with Chef Joe that he hired him as his Bay Area Sous Chef. Later, Chef Joe worked as the Executive Sous Chef for another Top Chef, Ryan Scott. With Chef Ryan, he assisted in opening two San Francisco restaurants – Market & Rye. Chef Joe has been featured on two seasons of Live Well Network’s “Food Rush,” as well as “Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner” of Guy’s Grocery Games on Food Network. Chef Joe is committed to Oakmont’s standards of excellence, and appreciates Oakmont’s mission to provide seasonally-inspired dishes comprised of fresh and organic ingredients.
